The programme aims to improve patient care in the face of a global health and social care crisis. In addition to academic learning, students can gain real world insights into UK health and social care delivery through work placements in a range of settings.

Talking about the Scholarship, Professor Brendon Noble, Head of the School of Life Sciences at the University of Westminster, said: “We are so pleased to welcome scholars that are part of the Hong Anh Medical Campus support package. All of our students on the Integrative Health and Wellbeing MSc course benefit from authentic learning in important, contemporary subjects as well as work experience in the UK but these HAMC scholars also have a guaranteed job when they return to Vietnam. This is a valuable career pathway and we are delighted to play a part in this ‘fast track‘ opportunity.“

The project, titled Learn, Earn and Return training programme is being developed in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, supported by Real Capital London. Trainees are recruited, trained in Vietnam and then at Westminster (learn), while gaining work experience in UK healthcare facilities where they will be paid (earn), then return to work on the Hong Anh Medical Campus (return).

Juliette Waterhouse, Managing Director of Real Capital London, said: “We are delighted to have worked with the University of Westminster to provide all the potential to join our Learn, Earn and Return programme. It has been a long journey, however, we are thriving on it, and have seen some fruitful results so far. This course is definitely one of the best MSc programmes with professional experience that we have come across. A suitable job with competitive remuneration package at Hong Anh Medical Campus is waiting for all of our scholars at the end of two years in London. We are excited to welcome more people on board and help them build a career with a real sense of purpose, to build a quality healthcare eco-system for Vietnam.”

HAMC’s development includes a medical training and research centre, a rehabilitation centre with step-down facilities, senior living/nursing homes, a world class hospital and a network of GP clinics and pharmacies, developed under British standards. The medical training and research centre provides training for all levels of medical professionals and recruits students with the highest potential throughout Vietnam.

Talking about the programme, Dustin said: “I was honoured to be one of the Learn, Earn and Return programme's first scholars. The program was a fantastic opportunity for me to study at a reputable university in London as well as to gain working experience in a developed healthcare system like the United Kingdom. I hope that not only the knowledge, skills and professionalism I learned in the course, but also the experience, cultural exchange and professional relationships will help me in my future career in Vietnam.”
